So there's a lot of hate going around and frankly, I'm done. Once and for all, I'm done. Here's my final thoughts on the topic. If you do not like how a particular group (example Christians but in particular the religious right) is responding to a need in our country (the need as you perceive it), do not respond with hate. You are no better than the group or person you are condemning and you are not really solving the need that you feel so badly needs solving. Instead of using your various social media outlets to put down and poke fun at the opposing view, get off your ass and get to work on the issue. You are false supporter if all you do is bitch about the issue.
Oh and yes, I could have just as easily defended the other side above. But you know what, I am a Christian. No I am not one of the crazy Christians our media loves to exploit I am a Christian who is trying to uphold the true principals of the bible and the lesson taught to us by Jesus. The lessons of acceptance, love, patience, forgiveness, and did I mention love. But my personal favorite, being a good steward of your money and resources that have been given to you. So if you are going to put down an entire group of people, make sure you have your facts straight and your "message" applies to all of those you have decided are worthy of your judgement. And get off your social media and go do something with your life.
I am tired of it.

2013 - The Year of Jess
Haven't you heard? It's the Year of Jess. Screw the dragon, rabbit, or tiger. Jess is what is happening.
I am taking a new approach to the blog. Yes, there will still be rants. Get real. But there may also be some baking, some fresh opinions, some reviews regarding media, and who the fuck knows what else. Oh yes, there will still be curse words. I can't help myself. But seriously, there will just hopefully regular posting instead of super random pop-ins.
So to start off the year (on 2/13), here are some of my current favorite things (reference stuff white people still like)
everything and anything french or french related with an emphasis on Julia Child
butter
vodka + soda + lime
not eating wheat
minimizing refined sugar in my life
tegan and sara (for life)
pajama pants
The new Brittney Spears/Will.i.am song (yup)
T.S.M
dance parties - party of 1 featuring Ke$ha
My masters degree - mostly that it is done
butter
Downton Abbey (Dani said it best, Mary is so difficult)
Being 6 months late to everything (see my prior reference)
Still Trav and all things Trav
Anything Smitten Kitchen does
Salted Butter Crispy Treats
Brunch and more brunch (did i mention vodka yet?)
spending a distributing amount of time with/talking to Jen/sister friends
Financial Planning - yes I am a nerd who loves my job
all my friends having babies and all my friends who don't have babies
Joy the Baker Podcast (I am a weird combination of Joy and Tracey (Shutterbean))
butter
